a backyard design with a twist - Lakeway

The reimagined driveway that leads guests to a tucked away oasis.

Perched on top of a hill, this Lakeway property is as unique as it gets. When you pass by it, nothing seems out of the ordinary until you get to its front door entrance.

Interestingly, the front entrance of the home is located in the back of the property and the street-facing facade is actually its backyard. The front yard is actually the backyard and the backyard is actually the front yard. If that does not boggle the mind, I don’t know what does.

But as perplexing as it may sound, we think this is exactly what gives this property a distinctive architectural edge that sets its apart from anything anyone has ever seen before. Capitalizing on its spectacular vantage point, the home’s reversed layout plan maximizes the panoramic views of picturesque Lake Travis.

The property did not have a designated place for a car park. Now, it does.

The owners came to us with a challenge to design a space that shifted the focus from the atypical entry to their home, and instead highlight a space that is worthy of being called an outdoor oasis.

The privacy wall also doubles as the entrance to the oasis atop the hill.

A space where they can entertain guests, bbq on the weekends, take a plunge in their pool, and relax on their hot tub at the end of a long day.

The guest house is now incorporated into the space and has great views and access to the pool.

Extra storage is a plus, a space for the car port is a must, and if we could reimagine the long driveway, that would be just.

The exquisite view outside the front door.

We cracked our knuckles, got creative with it, and delivered a well-thought out space that ticks every box in our clients’ wishlist.
