Architectural / Pool Designer

Contract · Austin, TX

We are looking for an Architectural / Pool Designer to expand our design services. Specializing in high-end residential pool design, we focus on discerning clients who appreciate the value of beautiful design. The role works closely with the modern design team and supports the overall design workload.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with clients and account managers to deliver our client’s vision
  • Create plans and renderings in pool design software (SketchUp and AutoCAD)
  • Edit and adjust plans as necessary to meet client expectations
  • Design layout and perform site layout of projects

Requirements

  • MLA, BLA, BSLA, M.Arch, or B.Arch
  • Proficiency with SketchUp and familiarity with its sister program, Layout
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for budgeting
  • Graphic design skills for rendering 3D models, base maps, and drawing sets
  • Ability to review survey notes, right-of-way information, blueprints, and legal descriptions
  • Research capability to manage all aspects of design projects from beginning to end
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, and able to self-manage responsibilities
  • Sharp presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with the design team and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and able to self-edit work for a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of materials and construction methods used in pool, hardscape, and landscape

Site Manager

Full-time · Austin, TX

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to plan, execute, and supervise a wide range of pool and outdoor living construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Project Management

  • Be familiar with contract documentation, drawings, specifications, addendums, and more
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, materials) start to finish with attention to budget
  • Effectively communicate job progress and manage client expectations
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, and others, giving guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Schedule subs with sufficient lead time to respond on the project timeline
  • Inspect subcontractor work, approve or disapprove invoices, and keep to budget
  • Report milestone completions to AR/AP for billing and job throttle

BuilderTrend Duties

  • Develop a subcontractor list and relationships to use the BT platform
  • Create RFPs for subs and input quotes into BT
  • Update schedules and to-dos daily and post daily logs for every site visit
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines
  • Prepare and issue change orders, and keep notes and redlines on each job
  • Complete materials takeoffs with overage and order to the project timeline

Site Management

  • Keep the site clean and organized
  • Keep documents up to date and review with the draftsman / operational leads prior to layout
  • Update as-built plans using redlines with our draftsmen and designers
  • Meet inspectors and subs onsite with appropriate documentation
  • Troubleshoot plumbing and make minor repairs when needed
  • Coordinate and make deliveries, and train clients at Pool School during handover
