Modern Pools has designed custom pools since 1999. We work from our studio in Austin, Texas, and we design pools for homes across the United Kingdom. We do not have a crew or an office in the UK. Instead, we draw your pool in full 3D and hand the plans to your local builder, who does all the building. For special projects, our team can travel to your site to help plan the work in person.

Built for a cooler, wetter climate

The UK has a short swim season and real winter cold. Frost and freeze can crack pipes and damage a pool that was not planned for it. We design freeze protection into every plan. That means smart pipe layouts, strong heating, and covers that hold warmth in. With the right plan, your local builder can build a pool that stays safe through the coldest months.

Indoor, covered, and heated pools

Because the weather turns cold and wet, indoor and covered pools are common across the UK. We can design an enclosure, a roof, or a warm pool house so you can swim far more of the year. A heated plunge pool works well for a smaller city garden. For a larger space, we can plan a full indoor pool with good heating and airflow.

Country estates and city homes

We design for both ends of the market. A country estate in the Cotswolds may want a long, calm infinity pool that looks out over the fields. A city home may need a neat geometric pool that fits a tight garden. We shape each design around your land, your house, and how you like to live outside. Add water features and outdoor living space and the whole garden comes together.

How we work with your local builder

Once the design is set, we give your UK builder construction-ready plans, drawings, and specs. They build from our plans, and we stay reachable as questions come up.
